Hello Again From The French Hen's Nest,
I noticed a new Goodwill on the way home from my son's house the other night, and decided that I would check it out today. It's huge, but not as much in housewares as the other store that I usually feature. However, it did have tons of art, and some good books. Anyway, I took a few photos, and I'm sharing them with you now. Hope you enjoy browsing.
Great for the sun porch
Pretty Fall platter
These were 18x18 inches, of wood, really like the teal for $2.50
Nice big basket
More baskets
Christmas wreath for $9
I think this carved wooden bowl is from South America. Where it is cracked it has been repaired with metal like staples. Must be very old, really quaint.
These look like ceramic, but are wood for $2.50!
Aren't they beautifully painted?
Love this transfer-ware plate.
My sister would love this milk glass hen.
Cuisinart coffee maker for $8.98!
Great color on this pretty clock
A long wall of art...
...and books
Remember these French portraits?
Original oil painting for $20
So pretty
Very modern
Something for every taste.
Well I hope you enjoyed sharing my latest browsing trip. I am still between homes and living with my daughter so I had to exercise restraint and took nothing home with me. It's not so hard when I think of my overflowing storage unit!
Till nest time,
Jeannie

Oh I would have been so happy because I collect brown transfer-ware. I would have also purchased the brown scroll pieces--hmmm maybe some paint!
ReplyDeleteAnn
Hi Ann, wasn't that plate pretty, the price was a little higher that usual at $7.97, most of the time they are only about $3.00. I loved the scroll pieces too, and you're right, they do need a little paint. Hope that you have a great week. Thank you so much for stopping by.

ReplyDeleteThanks for playing Blue Monday, and for sharing your blue.
Please come back and comment on my post.
Very fun. Shopping in my slippers. LOL. I enjoyed the tour. Those were some amazing things. I love the table and chairs. I need for my new patio! Come by and see my blue things today.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week. It was nice to meet you.

ReplyDeleteHoly Smokes! WHERE is this Goodwill store? I thought the ones by us were good, but this one had some amazing things. Go back when you are moved into your own place, that's all I can say.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.... Cass
Hi Cass, I live in Northern Va, just outside of DC. There were a few things I liked, but have to wait. Thank you so much for the visit. Hope you have a great day.

Wow - window shopping at it's best! I would have bought loads, especially the wooden wall hangings - love them!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday

WoW, I did enjoy browsing, I saw a few items that I would have brought home with me. Love Goodwill Stores!
ReplyDeleteHi Sylvia, so glad you enjoyed the trip, I love Goodwill stores as well, and thank you so much for the visit.

ReplyDeleteSome great finds, I love the beds, those are fantastic prices, now if I could only ship those for free!
Hi Noel, I really liked the queen sized bed, that frame was so pretty, it looked new. Thank you so much for the visit. Have a great day.

WOW - lots of goodies...The "hen" caught my eye, I have 6 and use them constantly for soups (especially chicken noodle), salads (like chicken salad) and egg dishes! My guests love it when I serve the hens and then lift off the lids to show the food inside!!
ReplyDeleteHi Patti, what a great idea, I would have never thought of that. My grandmother had one like it when I was little, she always kept it on her dresser. Thank you so much for the visit.

Looks like a fabulous goodwill. Thanks so much for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty

Wow you struck gold at your Goodwill. Awesomeness!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jeannie,
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking me along. I saw some things I would love to bring home with me. That white queen bed for starters, the transferware platter, etc. My son would love those wooden ducks! Thanks for sharing at my HOME and leaving your very sweet comment. Blessings, Sandi
I definitely would have gone home with the scrolled squares but the plates were priced too high for a thrift store. I chafe at paying more than a dollar for a single plate. I did like the original art for $20 though. That might have come home as well.
ReplyDeleteOMG as we use to say !!!!!! wish I had been with you I see several items that would be in my cart to take home
