Hello Again From The French Hen's Nest,
As I've mentioned, I'm staying with my daughter and her family for a little while, so buying is out of the question, unless of course, I just can't live without it. However, I can browse, and that is exactly what I did today. I took a little trip to the local Goodwill, and enjoyed browsing. I'm going to share my trip with you, and some of the good finds they had today.
I should have gotten these, they are so pretty. How much space can they take, right? And only 96 cents each. |
Really pretty for $5.95
Where else can you get a crab pot for less than $3.00, and not used? |
Looks like someone had to give up their Franklin Mint collection |
Cute little teapot |
A pretty decorative vase
Original fine art
Nice wooden bowl for $6.00
Another decorative wooden bowl, perfect for
beautiful shells
A glass sculpture |
This is an oil painting, nicely framed for $24.00
This is a large oil painting for $50.
This was like new for $10
A four slice toaster for $10
Cuisinart coffee pot for $10
Nice little $10 chair
I was picturing this painted white, what a steal for $60
I liked these lamps, they were heavy
and pretty for $8
An Asian style lamp
This was sold, couldn't find price |
These little tables were $10 each
A pretty chandelier for $19
A bigger one for $24 |
A set of decorative plates for hanging
I have way too many of these already
Really wish I had bought these, I'm sure they are gone by now.
These are fabulous for $40 each
Well, that was my trip to the Goodwill, hope that you enjoyed browsing with me, and that you are having a wonderful weekend.
Till Nest Time,
Jeannie

I like "shopping" with you. I can afford it! Thanks for playing.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that you had some trouble linking in today, but I fixed it and added your picture of the pretty blue and white cup.
Happy Blue Monday, Jeannie.
Hi Sally, thank you so much, I did have some trouble. Appreciate your help, and your party.
DeleteHave a great day,
Jeannie
I love browsing the thrift shops. I think it's just as fun to browse as to buy. I really don't need or even want anything else. Too much is just clutter.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean, I feel like I don't need anything, unless of course I find a french chair, can't seem to resist.
DeleteThank you so much for stopping by.
Jeannie
Browsing an elegant thrift shop ~ fun and love the blue colors for HBM ~ thanks, carol, xo
ReplyDeleteI would have grabbed that Cuisianart for 3.00-WHOA.
ReplyDeleteAnn
It was so tempting...Thank you for the visit.
DeleteJeannie
Great stuff! I love the delicate china cups -- I can't resist blue and white china.
ReplyDeleteHi Heather, I can't resist blue and white either, and I've been regretting not buying them, but there will be more later. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit.
DeleteJeannie
Thank goodness they do not charge for looking. You found a lot of great goodies.
ReplyDeleteThere were some great buys that day, a good day for browsing. Thank you so much for stopping by.
DeleteJeannie
Too bad you weren't able to buy. So many wonderful things!!
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Hi Mary Alice, I know, all of my things are in storage right now, and I was thinking there may be a little room in there. Thank you for visiting.
DeleteJeannie
Oh my word, there really are some fabulous things and the prices are good too. I love to visit my goodwill, seems like more and more of my home if from there. I saw a few things I would love. Thanks for the tour and thanks for linking to Inspire Me Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI have never been in a goodwill store in central Missouri with that many good items
ReplyDeletei seen about 6 things I would have loved to have especially the $24.00 painting of the lady and I love those matching chairs
I can always play with another chandelier for that price
Janice
Hi Janice, That chandelier was nice, my sister even wanted it. That painting was my favorite as well.
DeleteSo nice to visit with you.
Jeannie
I went by our local GW yesterday and came away with an Edwin M. Knowles small platter in a very pretty floral design. Checked it out online and found that it is 70 years old--really vintage! Also found a Ceraminter Italian plate in blue and white and a yellow plate from Portugal. Being inspired by vignettes that I saw on Common Ground and Sharing Shadymont, I arranged them in a rattan hamper with some old silverware in an ironstone pitcher and a few other things. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your tour!
Hi Ruth, sounds like you found some beautiful things, and arranged them beautifully as well. Nice colors.
DeleteJeannie
Loved browsing!! A lot of those things would have just had to come home with me!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deb
Thank you Debbie, and thank you for taking the time to visit.
DeleteJeannie
Wow...which Goodwill is this ? They got a lots of good stuff with reasonable price ! Sounds you had a great time browsing and I really enjoyed it too :)
ReplyDeleteMarlin
Hi Marlin, It's in Fairfax, Virginia, a very high cost area, and the Goodwill reflects that. We also have a Salvation Army, but they think they are an antique shop, prices are much higher. Appreciate the visit.
DeleteJeannie
A lot of great stuff there! That little cane backed chair would have definitely come home with me as well as the blue cups. They had a lot of nice things to choose from. Fun! Thank you for sharing at my HOME and have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
Wow, there was some really great pieces there! Love those chairs and the dining table.
ReplyDeleteYou are so strong to resist. Thanks so much for taking us along for a peek.
Hugs,
Patti
Hi Patti, you know, I went back today, and carried the blue cups around with me, but finally put them back. Thank you for hosting such a lovely party. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteJeannie
Happy...Happy...Happy Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteGod bless and strengthen you in all things!
Oh my gosh, I LOVE browsing the Goodwill! I wonder how long it will be before you check back on those teacups! Happy Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanne, I was just telling Patti at Ivy and Elephants, that I went back yesterday, they were still there, I walked around with them for a while, and put them back. Until I get a house, I just have no where to store them. Hope you are having a great weekend. And thank you for the visit.

What willpower you have! When I visit my daughter and her family, several states away from me, I come home with my little car packed with my thrifting finds. I barely have room for my clothes. You found so many beautiful things but I probably would have bought what you call a crab pot, it looks just like my water bath canner and I've about worn mine out this summer canning the tomatoes from our garden.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Happy Pink Saturday!
Sherry @ A Happy Valentine
YES! I would have splurged on the blue and White and yes, it happens, than you're sorry and they aren't anymore, lol.. Anyway, great things in this store, wow, and great bargains too! I love the Franklyn Mint collection, but furniture no! You had great willpower, I don't!!! Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteFABBY
I never see things this great at our Goodwill! You have wonderful restraint!
ReplyDeleteHi Robin, I'm between places, so I have too. Thank you so much for the visit.
DeleteJeannie
The Goodwill shops in Louisville KY are priced triple what these are priced at. Where is this shop? I see a road trip in my future!
ReplyDeleteHi Yvonne, This GW is greaT, It's right outside of Washington, DC. It's located in a high cost area, but has better prices than other areas. I've found some great things here. I have written several posts about my Thrift Store Finds, if you get a chance, pls check them out. Thank you so much for stopping by.
DeleteJeannie
Wow, that Goodwill has some great things and the prices are amazing! Thanks for linking to the Open House party.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sherry
Good Evening Jeannie, Well I never, you have the most amazing Goodwill I have ever seen. I adore those little blue and white cups..... you could have bought them, slipped them into your handbag and your son would have been none the wiser (only joking). It would have been no good me shopping with you as I would have encouraged you to buy. Mind you, if I lived close by, I could have stored them in my garage for you. Everything you showed us was lovely, but I really liked the chairs, yes I could see myself sitting very comfortably in one of those. In fact I could have sat in one and you could have sat in the other and we could have had a coffee and a chat.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely catching up with you.
Best Wishes to you,
Daphne
Hello Daphne, so good to hear from you again. Hope all is well with you, and that the cookery book is doing well. It would be lovely shopping and chatting with you. You know, I loved those chairs too, my daughter doesn't always like the same things that I do, or I would have bought them. Can't wait to have my own space again. Looking forward to coffee, tea, and a chat someday. Always lovely hearing from you.
