Decorating Your Mantle

Hello Again From the French Hen's Nest,

   I love the idea of a mantle on the front porch.  Here at La Bella Luce, the mantle is dressed for every occasion.  This is a patriotic decor, but just replace the flags with some sun flowers, and a couple of green plants hanging on either side, and it would be lovely.  Even a row of candles would be pretty, the battery operated ones to be safe.  Aren't they a brilliant idea?

The fireplace inside is really dressed up with an assortment of pretty glassware reflecting in the mirror.

Here the use of milk glass, clear, and aqua glass looks lovely together.

I love the way the fireplace is framed out with an ornate frame, great idea for a non-working fireplace.  I would cut the bottom off though, and maybe paint it white.

Here is a winter mantle with a mirror and two over sized candle sticks.  Behind all of the pretty things.

  I had a great old home in the historic district of New Bern, NC, and it had four fireplaces, one with gas logs, the others with electric logs, or candles.  I loved decorating them, and all were different.  All of my pictures are temporarily packed up or I would post them.  The point being, that I love a fireplace, whether it is inside or out, there is nothing prettier than a decorated fireplace.

  I've seen some pretty fireplaces out in blogland, so I know you love them too.
