Hello Again From The French Hen's Nest,
I'm going to be moving in July, and the owner of this home has asked for pictures of my house to help her in decorating and furniture placement. This is such a comfortable space and I have enjoyed it so much. I've actually lived in this area for the past 14 years, and will really miss it. It's an historical landmark, a very park like setting, and the early home of President Nixon and President Ford. Of course they were young senators at the time. It is the perfect location, near the Pentagon, and just a few miles from Washington, DC, where I used to work.
These homes were built in the 1940's, they have thick plaster walls, and parquet floors, not the herringbone kind. The ceilings are over nine feet high, so there is a feeling of spaciousness even though it is small (about 1,000 SF). I feel as though I have my own little Paris apartment, with the large windows that run across the back of the house and the high ceilings. I'm really going to miss it.
Fresh Lilacs
Well, that's my living room, except for the French desk that I am sitting at right now.
It's just to messy to take a picture of right now, maybe some other time.
Thank you for visiting my home, talk to you soon.
Till Nest Time,
Jeannie

Good Afternoon Jeannie, Oh, I am so sorry to hear that you are leaving your beautiful home. You have created such a beautiful space and it sounds as if you live in such a beautiful area. Do you have plans as to which area you want to live in. I know that wherever you live you will make your home as beautiful as this one, because you have such a wonderful eye for detail.
ReplyDeleteWith warmest wishes,
Daphne
Good Morning Daphne, So good to hear from you, hope that you are doing well. Thank you so much for your visit. I won't be going too far, maybe 15 to 20 miles, but I'm going to miss this area. It doesn't sound like much, but in this congested area that equals an hour. But maybe I can find a bigger place with a garage, wouldn't that be great? Hope you have a great day.

Jeannie, such a beautiful home. I am sorry you have to leave. I am sure after 14 years you have so much history and it has become a part of you. Life has a way of changing. They say change is the only thing that stays the same. I'm sure the best is yet to be for you. Thank you for sharing your home. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteHi Wanda, thank you so much. Yes, I will miss this area, but I'll be closer to my grandchildren, and it will be a little less driving for me. Hopefully, I can find a home that I love as much as this one. Oh, and thank you for following us, we will enjoy your blog as well. Take care,

Hi, Jeannie! I'm your "downstairs neighbor" on the Style Sisters' Centerpiece Wednesday this week! Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that you have to move from this home that you obviously love so much! I hope that you will find just as much joy and happiness in your new home! The fact that this one is full of so much history (not one, but TWO Presidents called it home!!!) makes it that much more special, I'm sure. Your living room really does call to mind a Parisian apartment!
Best wishes in your move, and have a wonderful week!
Hi Alycia, thank you so much for your sweet comments, and well wishes. I'll certainly miss my home. Right now I'm going to check out my downstair's neighbor. Hope that you have a great week as well.
