Whenever I go there, I like to go to Morehead City. It's a beautiful area, an historic little town just across the bridge from Emerald Isle and Atlantic Beach. It's located on Bogue Sound, and there are many historic homes, and great seafood restaurants.
If you ever visit Emerald Isle, be sure to visit the Morehead City waterfront. I'm featuring a few homes that are located on Bogue Sound. These aren't just summer cottages, but lived in all year.

I checked this one out, only 2 blocks from the beach.
This is a lovey Victorian |
Hope that you have enjoyed this little tour. I truly love this area, the smell of the salt air, the breeze, the sound of the waves crashing, who wouldn't want to live near the ocean? I grew up near here, and always thought that I would one day move back. Many years have passed, but I don't think I've totally given up on this dream. Is there a place that you dream of?
Till Nest Time,
Jeannie

love all the water and boats. I've never lived by the water, but lately have been dreaming of it more and more.
ReplyDeleteI look for properties near the water everyday, wouldn't it be great to spend the summer there, at least? Thank you so much for the visit, have a lovely week.

The NC coast is truly beautiful...I have friends who go to Emerald Isle twice a year and rent a house...they love it there...it is definitely on our list of things to do!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful island, hope you do make it there. Thank you so much for stopping by.

I enjoyed watching the houses with you (and dreaming about them!) very much. We also have a part of Brittany called the Emerald Coast!
ReplyDeleteGood Evening Jeannie, I think I have discovered the house I would like to live in..... the second photograph.... yes I can see myself living very happily there, especially as it is so near the sea. Most of the homes I have lived in have been near the sea.... and I love it, although I have to say, the sea salt and wind plays havoc with the house.
ReplyDeleteI think I have lived my dream as I love the Island of Cyprus and I have lived there three times during my lifetime.
Best wishes to you.
Daphne
I love all of these homes!! I've never been to this town but now I'm dying to visit. I love going to places that have pretty houses to look at. I'd love to live in one like the first few that have the front porches on both the first and second floors. It looks so beautiful!
