Hello Again From The French Hen's Nest,
Wow! It's been a while. The home search is still going on, I've found a couple of places that were perfect for me, but a little too far from my grandchildren, so I had to rethink. I have my eye on a place now, and hope that it works out.
Meanwhile, I have browsed just a little, and I'm going to share the finds with you. Miss all of you, and hope to be back full time soon. As soon as I find a house, you will be the first to know and see it.
Here are some things that I found at the local Good Will. It was really hard to pass on some of them, especially the Italian platter. It was over two feet in length, and the detail was lovely. Oh, I'll just show it to you.
Love this gate leg table for $50, it's ready for paint |
Very nice painting for $10 |
This was $60 |
Bedside table for $40, just needs a little touch-up |
This isn't a canvas, but it was still beautiful |
And a great price! |
There were 8 of these, made in Italy, love the blue |
There were a few of these bowls, so delicate and pretty |
Made in England, I think it is Johnson Brothers |
Great pot for $6 |
You can't tell from this photo, but this is about two feet long, and the detail is beautiful, very heavy and made in Italy, for just $10. |
Gorgeous detail |
Pretty little tea cup for $2 |
This bowl must have weighed 10 pounds, and it was only $8 |
Love the detail on this mirror |
A closer look |
I'm always amazed at the art gallery there |
Till Nest Time,
Jeannie

Very nice! Thank you for sharing these beautiful finds. :) Gentle Joy
ReplyDeleteYour GW has much better merchandise and better prices. How could you put the platter back? It is beautiful. Of course it would take up a monstrous amount of space. Love the table.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't easy, that was a very expensive platter, and the gate leg table was wonderful - I just need a garage.
DeleteThank you so much for stopping by.
Jeannie.
FuN shopping with you =)

You might enjoy my recent post on my Pretty things blog. I just went thrifting. I love the blue china plates. I would pick up a find like that even though blue is not my colour. I found some glass plates a few weeks ago at Goodwill and went back this Saturday to see what else I could find. Love love this post

Hello Janice, thank you so much. I love blue china, so it was really hard to pass on those. I'll check out your post now. Thank you so much for the visit.
ReplyDeleteJeannie
Jeannie, your GW has wonderful things. I would have taken that blue and white planter home and likely the stack of blue and white dishes. '-)
ReplyDeleteI'm your latest follower.
Me too!!
DeleteHi Sarah, I wanted the blue and white plates, I just have no where to put them right now. I keep telling myself that they will be there again. Thank you so much for the visit, and for following. Hope you are having a wonderful day.
DeleteJeannie
You have an amazing GW. I would be tempted to buy that table and all the china.
ReplyDeleteHi Rhondi, Oh, believe me I was tempted, it's not often you find a table like that one, right? When the living situation changes, I'll be able to buy a thing or two. Thank you so much for the visit, have a great day.
DeleteJeannie
What great finds. I would love to snag that teacup.
ReplyDeleteSherry
Oh that table - how did you ever leave that behind - get back and get that LOL !!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd that mirror - and everything actually - that's some pretty good deals you get in your neck of the woods -
They'd charge a fortune for that here in Montreal!
Hugs,
Suzan
Yes, those are Johnson Bros plates. I love the blue and white ones, I would have had to have those. The table would have tempted me too! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely finds. Specially the picture.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY!
Blessings,

It is a Johnson Bros. plate.... the pattern is Rose Chintz. They produced reproductions of it in the late 90s, early 2000s.I bought some... such a classic look!
ReplyDeletet finds. I love it when that happens. The tea cup was a bargain I have never found one that low in price.
ReplyDeleteI also love the glass. Good days shopping
