  Have you ever seen a small french chair with no seat, no back, just hanging on a wall?  I love that look, unfortunately I don't have a space big enough to do that.  But, when I spotted my chair sitting in the rain, that vision ran through my mind.

Blue Dressing Table

Hello again from the French Hens Nest!


I recently bought a french provincial dressing table and bench by Drexel furniture co from the Salvation Army thrift store. It was half price day so I got them both for $26!  Then my sister Jeannie found the perfect mirror to go with my dressing table at a thrift store in Alexandria for $13!  This all happened right before Thanksgiving so I used them as they were, waiting until after the holidays to paint them.

Tablescapes Seminar

Hello Again From The French Hen's Nest,


   I recently attended a seminar on creating beautiful tablescapes, by using what you have on hand around your home.  It was given by La Bella Luce, the lovely antique store in historic Clifton, Va.  Brenda, the manager, and Michele demonstrated a number of themes that you can create.  They did such a great job, and it was very inspiring.  I'm going to share  their table settings with you, and hopefully you will be inspired as well.
