It's Always Easter Here

Hello again from the French Hens Nest.

I used to collect Bunnies.

I have always loved little bunnies, even real ones.  I am also very fond of Beatrix Potter.

This Benjamin Bunny cup and saucer were given to me by my son, Chris, and daughter, Ashley in 1988.  It is very special to me.

Everyone bought me bunnies and I bought bunnies and they seemed to multiply like, well, like rabbits! And one day I had too many bunnies...or so I thought at the time.

So when we moved into our home 3 years ago, I left the bunnies in the box and never unpacked them and kind of forgot them, until yesterday.  I thought about how my 4 year old granddaughter, Talula, would probably love to see all those bunnies.

So I went up into the attic and found the box of bunnies.  What fun it was unwrapping each one.

This was always one of my favorites.

 What a sweet bunny.

My little Bunny Band

The bunny family.

This one is signed by the artist and was a gift from my daughter, Ashley.

Pretty purse and I think she's wearing lipstick!

Another wood carved bunny & signed by artist.

I found this Royal Doulton Peter Rabbit child's cup at GW for $2
Another favorite from my son and daughter for a  Christmas long ago.

This is a little carved pull toy bunny.  I wonder who made it and who played with it...

I found this funny round bunny in Alexandria when I visited Jeannie at Christmas.  Of course we hit the thrift stores!

Where there are Easter Bunnies there are Easter Eggs...

So with all these bunnies I decided to use them in my Easter decorations.

on the mantle...

in the foyer...

On the bookshelves...

and on the dining table...

I want the cross to be the focus so I left the arrangement very simple and included only my two favorites, gifts from my children when they were very young.

While we are celebrating  Easter and decorating with Easter Bunnies and Easter Eggs, let's not forget to celebrate the Easter sacrifice made for us all by Jesus.

May God bless you all with the peace of Christ this Easter.

  1. There's something so sweet about bunnies. I'm doing a 'bunny' themed Easter table, although I don't have much of a collection. Except Peeps marshmallow ones haha. I bet your grandaughter will absolutely love them all. How wonderful to have Easter egg hunts again, I can't wait.
    Blessings,

  3. I have a few of the Beatrix Potter ceramics - Jemima Puddleduck and Mrs. Rabbit with her babies in bed. I think I will have to get them down from the attic.

  4. Did you see the movie Miss Potter with Renée Zellweger? It is a lovely movie about Beatrix Potter. We try to watch it sometime during the holidays.

  5. You made me feel bad - I did not unpack my bunnies this year, just the chicks. I have decided to rotate who gets to come out each season. I love your collection - my favorite is the bunny pull toy.

    1. Oh you are too funny! That's the first song (and last) I learned to play on the guitar when I was 15!

The thing to remember is to only own bunnies you love. I admit I have gw'd some over the years! Thanks for visiting.
