A Mirror, An Angel, and A Persian Rug?

Hello Again from The French Hen's Nest

The title sounds like a really good story, but it's just another name for my weekend finds.  I had been looking for a small chest or chest of drawers for a while.  I have a mirror that I bought at GW for $12, and thought it would be perfect for my granddaughter,  and was hoping to find a mate for it.  Well, last week I did,  one of my neighbors put a dresser, and chest on the street, they were ornate, and really matched the mirror well.  Only one problem, no one to help me get it home.  I'm sure this has happened to many of you as well.  I had to let it go, but I still think about it. And like I said, I still have the mirror and here it is.

The little ducks will have to go

Love the detail

My second find is an Angel, a paper angel with porcelain hands and face, I found it at a church thrift store for $10.  I have seen angels like this  before, but they were a little pricey.

 I love angels, I've actually
encountered one.

My granddaughter, Em, went with me to take pictures at
La Bella Luce the other day, which was decorated for Christmas, and she was so inspired by what she saw, that she asked me if we could decorate her room.  She has claimed the spare room in my house as her own, which is fine with me, and decorating it together sounds like fun.  I believe this angel will be perfect for her room.
I think she is beautiful

 ******

My third find is a Persian rug, the colors are so vibrant, I just couldn't pass it up at $25.  It's dark pink, brown, teal, oh, I'll just show it to you.    After all a picture is worth a thousand words.

I'm not sure where I will use it, it's in great shape so I can't cut it up.  Have you ever see stools or benches covered in rugs? They look great, and the hand loomed rugs are very soft and flexible, so they are easy to work with.  Keep that in mind next time you see a wool rug for sale.
Love the colors. If anyone out there knows more about this rug than I do, please let me hear from you.

Well, I have a couple more finds, but they will have to wait.  Hope that you enjoyed these.

Take care,

Till next time,

Jeannie

  4. Wonderful finds, Jeannie! Love the mirror! You must live in a very nice neighborhood. If something like that was sitting out on my street, it would be snatched up so quick that you wouldn't know it had even been there. Thank you for sharing with my HOME and enjoy the rest of your week.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  7. For the unacquainted, omega watches for sale the motive for liking these kinds of accessories may well not be so obvious. Nicely cheap christmas gifts, let me tell you, the handbag we like is that we like women rolex watches since they can be easy or stylish. And one an additional motive may be their position for bringing up an elegant replica catier jewellery online character. A designer handbag reflects that how much you are aware of new trends and variations womens jackets and just how much you worth model in your own daily life? We are able to sense greatly superior cheap prada handbags and valued immediately after making use of these items. They can be not graceful cheap chanel handbags but covey perspective and glory for those as well who use them.
