When I woke up Friday morning, I had a to do list in my head. And while accomplishing it, I had a relaxing in the moment kind of day. I took time to enjoy what was around me, and the beauty in small things.
While the clothes were washing, I sat in the most comfortable swing ever. They are shaped like an egg, and so comfortable. Sitting in the trees, the temperature was around 65 degrees, and I must have sat there for at least 40 minutes just relaxing.
After that the garden needed to be watered. The tomatoes are blooming, a pepper ready to be picked, one volunteer zinia blooming, and hundreds are coming up fast, and so are the weeds. A little weeding and watering, and back to my list. I find great joy in watching the progress in the garden. A flower given to me by my sister during our last visit has pretty purple blooms, and brings her to mind every time I see it.
On to the next project, painting the front door, and the railings. It sounds like a lot, but those of you who paint often, know that these projects take very little time. Oh what joy when the door looks new, the railings match the door, why I have a new porch. Sometimes when taking a break, I sit in the rocker, and have my coffee, and marvel at the difference a little paint makes. Even painted the neighbors door, it needed it worse than mine did.
I could go on and on, it was a marvelous day and so much was accomplished. I'm going to share some photos of projects, and some of the things that brought joy into my day. Hope that you are having a wonderful day full of joy.
