Hello again from the French Hen's Nest,
My sister will be arriving soon, and it's so chilly outside, thought I would make a pot of tea. As luck would have it, my sister and I enjoy the same tea, Earl Grey. So I have prepared the tea, (decaf of course) and some tea cakes as my grandmother use to call them, (short bread cookies) for us to enjoy.
We always enjoy scones with our tea, but just don't have the time to bake right now. Anyway, the purpose is to enjoy the time I have with my sister. We always have such fun, we never tire of talking and laughing.
Well, I better run, think I hear my sister at the door.
Hope you have a beauteaful day and share a cup of tea with someone you love.
Till Nest Time,
Jeannie

My Staffordshire Bouquet Ironstone
As you can see I've used my Staffordshire Bouquet by Johnson Brothers. I really love this pattern and have collected many pieces through the years.

Good Morning Patti, Thank you for your lovely comments. Actually, Patti, my sister and I live about 330 miles from each other, but we talk at least three to four times a day, and text as well. She just visited me for a couple of days last week, we had so much fun. I hope that you and yours had a beautiful Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAlways,
Jeannie

Jeannie and Linda, Thanks for sharing your beautiful table setting and special tea at Simple & Sweet Fridays!
ReplyDeleteWishing you both a Happy New Year!

I was drawn to your blog by the thumbnail picture of your tea cups on BTPF. My mother had that same dinnerware and it was offered as free place settings when you collected enough stamps for buying groceries at Kroger, I believe it was in the 70's. You could purchase special pieces or get them discounted with enough stamps also. Of course I don't have my mother's set anymore. My dad sold it when they divorced.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2013!
Hi Beth, You know I didn't know that they were given away at grocery stores until my aunt told me a few weeks ago, and I've collected them for a while. I really love the colors in these dishes. Sorry you weren't able to keep your Mom's set. Thank you for stopping by. Wishing you a very Happy New Year!
