Dumpster Browsing

Hello Again From The French Hen's Nest,

Just thought I'd take you on a little tour of our secure waste yard.  Or where the residents take their trash, or used treasures, just depends on how you see things.  I'm always amazed at the items that are left for trash, and hope that someone will find them and give them a new life.  When someone moves in, they often leave the excess here, and when moving out.  If something doesn't sell at a yard sale, it ends up here.  If only I had a truck, and a garage, or a shop.

Nice frame, right?

Huge oil painting
---
Love this lamp

Could use this today

Perfect table top, not a scratch in sight

I should have gotten these, so pretty

This was a live plant, hope someone rescued it

New, unused pot, nice...

This would make a great potting table, just showing half, sorry

A 9 x 12 rug , this is the bottom,  too heavy to move

I did pick up a new Wilton 4 loaf  baking pan

More art

A bed wrapped and ready to go, old, but with paint, it would be good

Pretty feet on a buffet type cabinet

Rough shape, but could be lovely

Another bed frame

This was very heavy

What a pretty desk, with leather inset

Great detail

Well, that's it for today, I have more photos, and will share them another time.  Hope that you enjoyed dumpster browsing with me.

Till Nest Time,

Jeannie

    1. I did too, no one picked it up either, it ended up in the trash, can you imagine? Thank you so much for the visit.

  5. Hi Jeannie and Linda,

So nice to meet you! How I miss that thrill of the hunt! Garage sales, second hand stores, estate sales, etc...are not done here on the island (Crete). I'm guessing that things will change as the economic crisis has hit hard and people will start to welcome these types of purchases. And when that happens, I'm there; the early bird gets the worm!

Love that buffet/hutch; chippy, shabby loveliness!! Thanks for my furniture fix!
