Wintry Christmas Scenery

Hello Again From The French Hen's Nest, and Merry Christmas!

We've had a lot of snow and ice lately, which is beautiful, but treacherous. As I was on my way to La Bella Luce to pick up my chandelier I snapped a few photos of the lovely scenery. The trees were heavy with snow and the fields are beautiful with a light blanket of snow. And as usual the ladies at La Bella Luce had the store decorated beautifully. So many trees, so many beautiful ideas. I took a few pictures of the store as well, and I'm sharing those with you.

Hope that all of you are enjoying this beautiful season of joy, and sharing with those that have a little less joy right now. Let's keep them in our hearts and prayers. I believe that people are just a little kinder, and more thoughtful during the Christmas season. Let's keep it going....

So Many Options

Hello Again from The French Hen's Nest,

I'm still not in my own home, and really miss decorating for Christmas. Here is a look back at a post from last Christmas. Hope that you are enjoying this joyous season.

I don't know about you, but I decorate, redecorate, and then decide which I like best. And then I may add more. I can only describe it as a decorating frenzy. I have so many ideas, they have to be narrowed down. I'm sure that you know what I mean. So below are a few pictures of decorative objects, decorated differently for Christmas.

A Few Good Finds

Hello Again From The French Hen's Nest,

As many of you know, I am staying with my daughter, still looking for a house, with all of my worldly possessions packed in storage. Occasionally. when I'm shopping, I find something that I just can't resist, most of the time I just pass on my good finds, but when it involves blue and white, it is very difficult for me.
I visited Good Will last night, and happened upon a blue and white box to add to my collection. I very rarely find porcelain boxes, especially at a good price, so when I do, I must buy it. I only paid 96 cents for this little beauty, and I am thrilled to have it. The design is lovely, and the blues are just right. The photos not so great.

This is a wreath that I found at another Good Will. It was only $2. I bought green ribbon to make a Fall wreath for my daughter (she loves green), and voila, perfect together.

I was visiting a friend in my old neighborhood, and happened upon these pictures. All were free. Sorry about the glare, they are in the back of my car until I can take them to storage. What a great find!


This is one of my favorites. The colors are actually more vibrant than shown. And last, but not least, my very favorite, a canvas for $5. Really like paintings of fruit This definitely came home with me
